Review: The Woman who Rides like a Man by Tamora Pierce

The Woman Who Rides Like A Man is book three in the Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce.

PS: if you haven’t read the earlier books, do that now. Don’t read on, there may be spoilers for earlier books.

Alanna has been revealed as the realm’s first Lady Knight in a hundred years. She’s left the populated part of the realm to reacquaint herself with being a woman. Finding herself adopted into a Bazhar tribe, Alanna becomes the first woman to sit with the men, and the first mage of the tribe. She’s faced not only with her own obstacles, but she has to take on some apprentices.

This book is filled with Alanna’s journey to make her own name for herself outside the castle walls, defend her right to carry a knight’s shield, and find out who she is on her own.

You can read the rest of the Song of the Lioness series here… or on the author’s website.
