Review: Demon Dance by Brian Freyermuth

Demon Dance by Brian Breyermuth is the first of the Sundancer novels. And one of the best books I’ve read in a while.

Nick St. James is a writer. And only a writer. He left all the supernatural private detective stuff behind five years ago. Until now. With a visit from his past, a demon attack, and a mystery he has to solve, Nick is back in the game. Sort of unwillingly.

He’s got some gifts to help him out, but Nick is sorely outmatched by the demon element he’s fighting. But the life of a little girl depends on him finding a way. And he’s promised to deliver.

The book sucked me in and kept me hooked. I needed to know how Nick got out alive. I needed to know who was behind the whole mystery and how all these different angles came together. The mystery/thriller side was excellently done, and the paranormal element was awesome.

You want this book. Trust me.
