Review: Bitten by Anna Wolfe

Bitten is book one of The One Rises series by Anna Wolfe. This book is a supernatural hayday of demons, demon bitten humans, and chaos.

“There is another world touching ours that is filled with demons or, at least, that’s what we call them. They call themselves something else entirely, though that is neither here nor there. Every now and again, human beings manage to pull these demons through to our side. The human dies, of course, and the demon gets a person shaped suit to live in. We call these creatures the demonridden.” From Bitten.

Callie White was bitten by a demon, which gives her a supernatural boost, but that same demon killed her best friend by possessing her as well as her brother. Callie kills the demon, and is now wanted for murder. She’s decided she wants to die, but she must destroy the demon book first. That’s how Silas and the others find her, starving and homeless. Callie wants to die, but she wants the book destroyed more. And that’s the only thing that’s kept her demon sided hunger under control.

Now that’s she’s with Silas, Eddie, and Mark, Callie realizes that there’s another way to feed the hunger without killing. But she still wants the book destroyed. Setting out on a quest to do just that may take a lot more out of her. Not to mention that she has to learn to control her hunger, and she’s more powerful than most Bitten. Not to mention all the emotional crap she’s wading through after the murder of her friend and brother.
